About Maïa Saint-Couleurs

I am a France-based artist inspired by the sacred arts of India. After studying the philosophy and culture of India for many years and volunteering in various cultural projects around Europe, I went on to spend several years in India and experience its culture first-hand. Since 2020 I have worked on various visual projects related to Indian culture. I aspire to create works inspired by age-old sacred art that are meaningful and relevant to the modern world.

Blessed is the painting made with all the characteristics mentioned in the scriptures. It brings good luck to the country, the painter and the king. Therefore an image with all the scriptural characteristics should be properly made by all men with great care.

W hen a learned artist paints with brilliant colors, with charming and very clear lines and the garments according to the particular country, such a painting, endowed with the beauty of proportionate measurement, becomes very beautiful.

The description is given through disciplic succession, just like that given by Nārada Muni, who sees the Lord and describes His bodily features. Therefore such descriptions should be accepted, and if they are painted, that is not imaginative painting."
